Windows 8 Network and Wireless Configuration - TB18825

Windows 7 support and configuration articles and troubleshooting steps also generally apply to Windows 8. To do so, Windows 8 users first must open the Desktop app.

To go to the Desktop, tap/click on the Desktop tile, or hold down the Windows key and press "D".

You can also right click in the bottom right of the Metro start screen to display an "All Apps" icon. When "all apps" are displayed, the list includes the Desktop, a Control Panel icon and a Command Line (cmd) icon all of which may be of use in network troubleshooting.
