Overview
MSU Academic Technology Services has deployed a major upgrade to mail.msu.edu, MSU's centrally supported e-mail service. The web mail interface substantially changed with many enhancements, cosmetic changes, and new features including a great deal of user customization.While the legacy service will be retired as of May 11, 2009, users retain their current @msu.edu e-mail address.
Note: Cookies must be enabled for the new service to work correctly. A number of log-in and display problems occur when cookies in the user's browser are turned off.
Yahoo Browser users: The Yahoo browser portal installed by SBCglobal, AT&T, or other providers is not compatible with mail.msu.edu at this time. Users are advised to use an unmodified version of Internet Explorer or other browser such as Firefox.

Important notice regarding SPAM filtering
As part of the upgrade, mandatory spam handling will commence, and known spam will be blocked, while suspected spam will be delivered for handling within the user's mail client. Most users will want to use the filtering capabilities in the new mail system or their desktop client to handle the marked messages. The new mail service provides many enhancements and features, a number of which are highlighted below:- User selectable themes and colors
- Calendar function, including the ability to subscribe to the calendars of other mail.msu.edu calendar system users. (Please note, this is entirely independent of Exchange calendars systems used in many MSU departments.)
